Here's how voiceofstillness.com began....

I'm Judy Gray and just like you, I have a story…. the things I’ve done and the things I believe, my aspirations and my inspirations, and the many lessons I’ve learned during my six decades of experience here on earth. There’s nothing very new in my story…. just my own personal variations on being.... being a human being.

As we go along there will be more writing about some of these details in the Voice of Stillness blog (coming soon!) but for now, let me say that I've worked as a nurse, an organist, a choir director, a social worker, a photographer, and now as an internet business owner.... let’s see, that’s a career a decade. I'm blessed with a partner, a daughter and son in law, a granddaughter, two Irish wolfhounds named Daisy and Lupine (Lupey), and a community of family, friends, and neighbors that surrounds us. It’s good, so VERY good!

If you hear a “but” coming, you may be clairvoyant or cynical.... or maybe just wise. It is good and yet, I search and I wonder and I ponder. All the loftier questions of life continue to surface even after all this time. The most basic of my beliefs is that we are here on a healing mission…. healing for ourselves and healing for our planet. So in this most recent decade of my life, I began in earnest to look into some of my questions more deeply and I found, not surprisingly, that there are fewer answers than I had hoped, and that it’s really not about the answers after all.

I began changing my thoughts and behaviors as I learned new ways of thinking, being, and doing but soon realized that the challenge for me was actually to remember these new-to-me ways. I needed to receive frequent reMinders that would help me integrate these “ways” into my being. I believe that we each have an inner Voice of Stillness and so I began wondering “what would it be saying to me now?” At this point in my life, many patterns certainly were set, but not in stone…. change was indeed possible. So I began looking for a way to hear that voice frequently throughout my day, whether or not I remembered to ask or listen.

It was my daughter who gave me the idea of using the computer to design and play a reMinder program that would meet these needs and desires. I am most grateful to her for the seed that she planted several years ago. The rapid changes in technology have supported this endeavor and continue to increase the possibilities for its use as a companion and tool on the spiritual path so many are choosing today.
